CostFlex
Systems first installed
in 1989. The purpose of the company then and now is the
development, installation and support of a new type of cost
accounting and decision support system designed specifically for
the hospital industry.
The
CostFlex products consist of an integrated set of cost
accounting, decision support and contract terms management
analysis software modules.
Installation work for all modules, including the cost accounting
module (Monthly Costing) is "turnkey". What this means
is that the CostFlex Systems, Inc. staff, not the user's
staff, performs all the installation and initial auditing work.
CostFlex Systems guarantees the work and leaves a
completely operational system that can be utilized and made
useful immediately. Training of the user’s cost coordinator or
cost accountant is accomplished during the installation. This
installation period is happily short with a full installation,
which routinely addresses 10,000 to 15,000 worktasks, being
performed in 4 weeks or less.
Once
installation is complete, support for the CostFlex
products and on-going training of the user's staff is via
Internet access. While most support calls to our 800 number are
handled immediately, we guarantee a maximum 48-hour response.
All
module upgrades are included in the monthly service agreements.
Even major upgrades such as changing from DOS to Windows
completed in 1994 and the upgrade to Year 2000 compliance
were/are included in the standard agreement. In both cases, all
current users were upgraded without additional license fees
being required.
Research and development is continuous and is primarily in
response to current user's requests for new features and
capabilities. The advanced costing methodology and many of the
cost management tools that are standard CostFlex features
are exclusive and/or proprietary to CostFlex Systems.
The new tools currently in testing or under development are, for
the most part, not currently available from any other source.
