ACTIVITY TRACKING / PRODUCTIVITY MONITORING

Every hospital can improve care and lower costs if they measure productivity more effectively.

Productivity is critical. First and foremost is patient care, but this must be done in the most effective way.

The CostFlex Activity Tracking module allows you to collect and analyze labor tracking data according to wide range of criteria. This includes patients, employees, work tasks, equipment, rooms, assets, drugs, supplies, and more.

At the beginning of each work shift, each employee picks up a mini bar code scanner with which each activity is recorded.

Throughout the day, bar code labels attached to patients, rooms, equipment, drugs, supplies, charts, other employees, and menu's are quickly scanned and the results are stored in the scanner's memory.

At the end of the day, the mini scanner is attached to a computer which downloads all the scanned transactions.

Drug Administration

Patient safety will be enhanced by monitoring the five "rights". The right patient , right medication, right dose, right time, and right route will be verified before any drug is given.

Patient Acuity.
Nursing costs will be precisely associated with each patient.

Employee Productivity
The activity captured will paint a picture of the workday for each employee. The count of patient interventions, their duration, the equipment and supplies used, personal times and frequency, and more will be separated into productive and non-productive time, merged with paid time, and compared to other staff and national standards.

Patient Care Workflow.
The specific services provided to each patient including the time, location, employees involved, the waiting time experienced by the patient, the equipment utilized, and more will be captured. Inefficiencies will be uncovered and corrected.

Asset Utilization Monitoring
Usage densities by day of week and hour of the day will be captured for rooms, equipment, wheelchairs, nebulizers, CT Scanners and more. Where routine maintenance is required, these events will be captured as well
